Director Nikhil Advani has a formula for a melodrama and it is getting old and boring. The movie did not suck and it was not absolutely terrible but it was not good either. The film goes back and forth between melodrama and humor, therefore it leaves the audience a little bit confused about what director was aiming for. What makes the movie bearable is the cast. Anushka Sharma was very good and believable as always chattering and energetic girl and I think that without her the movie would have been a total snooz-fest. Akshay Kumar and Rishi Kapoor were very good as well and I truly enjoyed watching their performances. The music in the film was nothing special but it was pleasant. Overall, I would suggest seeing it if you enjoy cheesy melodramas, otherwise I suggest staying home. -
I did not like this film, it was not bad but not good either. I would say it was a mediocre family drama and nothing more. I thought that the film had a decent buildup but failed in many levels. First of all, it was hard for me to relate because i think that cricket is a stupid sport and I do not understand it. The writing was terrible as well, the dialogue was straight up silly sometimes and the story had a lot of loopholes. I have to admit that some of the moments were really inspiring and genuine, but the bad moments overweight the good ones. I did enjoy the music in the film and the acting was alright, I think the actors did the best that they can. Akshay Kumar, who plays the main character Parghat Singh Kahlon is enjoyable to watch and I think he played the strong and silent suffering type of guy very well. Overall, I would suggest saving your money and waiting for a better Bollywood film.
