Miral Movie Reviews

I think the film is very important and the issues it tries to uncover are very interesting and intriguing, but it fails to involve the audience and care for the main character. The film is directed by Julian Schnabel who also made one of my favourite movies “Diving Bell and the Butterfly” and this film does not even come close to the quality of his previous work. The camerawork is very shaky and blurry and it is so weird to see that because I know that Julian Schnabel is capable of amazing camerawork. The film is not very interesting either and I was honestly pretty bored throughout the whole film. I am sad to say that i did not like this film and i do not recommend seeing it in the theaters.
This is Julian Schnabel’s fourth film about lives of four Palestinian women. I usually do not enjoy films that involve politics or religion, it’s just too frustrating to watch. I think this film was not biased and liked parts of it and some parts I really hated. I do think that the movie was simplified especially the drama that was going in n in the lives of the women. The characters in the film needed more depth and they simply did not have enough story for me to care about them. The film is absolutely amazing visually, Julian Schnabel is definitely a perfectionist to the point where it is a little bit too much.
