Usually, this theater is GREAT. This was the second time we were seeing The Hunger Games and we wathced a mouse scurry up and down the stairs and then through an aisle and come back to the end of an aisle. Usually the temperature is comfortable.

I like the idea behind the games. Wouldn't want to live it, but could see it really happening some day. The cast was young and ready. Though beauty can be a put off, in this case it worked for the lead. She's a good pouter and fighter. looking forward to the next few films. I like sequels a lot and wish all movies had 'to be continued' at the end. It would make movie going more exciting these days. The only thing that didn't sit well with me was the amount of liberties taken in adapting the novel.

BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR, HANDS DOWN. I've read the Hunger Games Book Trilogy twice now and seen the movie 4 times. The Hunger Games is AMAZING.

I do not understand why this film is getting such great reviews and doing so well because I found nothing special or interesting about it. have not read the books and maybe that is why I was not under the spell of this film. Anyway, I found this film to be pretty boring and unoriginal, I was really expecting more after I read the reviews. I did not like the camerawork either, it was always so close and shaky and it made me nauseaus. The film was also really long and nothing really happened in it. I really do not understand why people liked this film so much.

The Hunger Games is the first film in the inevitable franchise based on the popular Suzanne Collins series. It follows in the footsteps of Harry Potter and Twilight, two popular book series aimed at youth, but with crossover appeal, that made their leap into the movies. However, unlike those other two series, Hunger Games doesn't take long to get its legs. It starts running immediately. It's an exciting movie that mixes action, romance, and drama very well. It's the future, and the US has become Panem, a collection of 12 districts. Every year, each district "volunteers" a young man and woman to participate in The Hunger Games, a sort of youth oriented Running Man. When her sister is chosen, Katniss (played by the stellar Jennifer Lawrence, who, at only 21, is about to become a movie star because she's the rare stunner who's also a great actress) volunteers. There's a lot going on in this movie. There's romance involving Katniss and two suitors, there's the games themselves, and a whole bunch of young adult themes that still resonated with me. The best parts of the movie are the games themselves, which, thankfully, rely less on CG and more on the excitement of who will or will not be killed. Part of that excitement is Lawrence, who has way more confidence and presence onscreen that most actors who are later in their careers, let alone a girl who is only 21. The rest of the cast is filled with greats such as Donald Sutherland, Woody Harrelson and Stanley Tucci. I would have liked to have seen more in the way of deeper meanings behind all of this, but the books and movie are directed more at young adults, so maybe I'm being picky. No matter. The Hunger Games is a great first movie in a series that looks to be pretty exciting.

I do not think this film is amazing but it was enjoyable enough and if you liked the book you will most likely like this film as well. The movie was fast and intense and interesting and i think that Jennifer Lawrence did a good job with the role, I was very impressed with this actress. The film also looks great but it does not overload the audience with special effects and elaborate sets, it has context and a message and I loved that. I really liked that the characters were well developed and genuinely interesting and I liked that the director did not portray too much violence even though the book has a lot of violence in it. Overall, I did not expect this film to be as good as it was and I think it is worth seeing in the theaters.

This film is set in the future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, the film is directed by Gary Ross and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. I have not read the book so I do not know if the film stays true to it but I liked this film and I think it is worth seeing in the theaters. I like that the director did not rely too heavily on special effects and dazzling backgrounds, the film had substance and I was pleasantly surprised by that. I really liked the main character and cared what will happen to her and I think that Jennifer Lawrence did a pretty good job with this role. I also liked that the film was fast paced and thrilling and I was not bored even for a second. Overall, I recommend seeing this film in the theaters.
